MASTERCARD RULE UPDATE
Effective October 17, 2014
Zero Liability for transactions conducted with MasterCard Branded Debit or Credit Cards
Have peace of mind knowing that your MasterCard will not hold you responsible for "unauthorized transactions." Zero liability applies to transactions made in the store, over the telephone or online. As a cardholder, you will not be held responsible for unauthorized transactions if:
- You have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding your card from loss or theft; and
- Upon becoming aware of such loss of theft, you have promptly reported the loss or theft to the credit union
Please safeguard your card and pin, but if you believe there has been unauthorized use on your account and you meet the two conditions above, you will enjoy the protection of MasterCard's zero liability promise.
If you have questions regarding Zero Liability Coverage or you suspect unauthorized use of your card, contact us immediately.
If you will be traveling and plan to use your Americo FCU Debit and/or Credit Card, we need to put an alert on your card(s). We do not want your card(s) to become blocked for suspicious activity while you are away from home, putting you in a difficult situation. Notifying us that you will be traveling will help us monitor your account against fraud.
Please inform us of your travel arrangements prior to your trip. That includes the dates of travel, what cities, states or countries you will be traveling through, and a phone number (e.g. cell phone number) where you can be reached while traveling, in case the fraud department needs to review transactions. We also need to be informed of international travel, since all cards are blocked internationally unless the travel form is filled out.
Travel forms are available at both credit union offices.

Effective January 1, 2013, we will no longer offer International Western Union service.
